Picture this scene: the drought had stripped Canaan bare of crops. There was no food in sight. Yet there was one place that reported having vast storehouses of food: Egypt! Jacob knew that unless he acted soon, his entire family would starve. So he sent ten of his sons (all except young Benjamin) to Pharaoh to buy provisions. The brothers never imagined that in Egypt they would find not only food, but the brother they had long ago betrayed and given up for dead!
