Dr Oswald J Smith was a Presbyterian Minister who was the Missionary Pastor of The Peoples Church in Toronto and at one stage under his pastorate it has the largest congregation in Canada.
He preached in some of the greatest Evangelical churches throughout the world; an author of 25 books, which have been translated into 35 different languages and have sold millions of copies.
His passion was for Mission and at one time this church raised over $250,000 and supported 350 missionaries. As a poet and hymn-writer, he has written 1200 hymns, poems and Gospel songs and was editor of a magazine for 41 years which enjoyed a world-wide circulation.
