The Scottish Pulpit: From the Reformation to the Present Day by William M Taylor and Classics.

The purpose of these essays was not to give a full account of the Scottish Ecclesiastical History nor the complete biographies of the main people in the Scottish pulpit from the Reformation until the 1880's. Instead the aim of the book is to place the preaches in the environment of their time; to bring out characteristics by which they were distinguished, and to give point to such lessons from their work as may be useful in our present age.
